Cookies and browser storage

Effective date: 25 May 2026. Last updated: 25 May 2026. We do not run tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. This page lists every functional storage item used by aksel.cloud, what it does, and how long it lives.

Short version: Aksel runs zero tracking. The site uses a handful of localStorage entries to remember your fit-checker answers, your questionnaire drafts and whether you have dismissed the cookie notice. It loads Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address while the font file is delivered. There is no third-party advertising, no analytics, no remarketing.

1. Why this page exists

The EU ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC and the Danish Cookie Order (cookie-bekendtgørelsen) require websites to inform users about cookies and similar storage. Even though we use only functional storage — which does not require prior consent — we still disclose it here, because transparency is more useful than a click-through banner.

2. The storage items we actually use

All items below live in your browser's localStorage. They never leave your device, and you can clear them at any time via your browser's privacy settings.

Storage key Purpose Category Lifetime
aksel.cookieNoticeAck Remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice, so we do not show it again. Strictly necessary Until you clear browser storage
aksel.fitChecker.* Holds your answers to the hardware fit-checker on requirements.html. Functional Until you clear browser storage
aksel.questionnaire.* Holds your draft answers in the post-purchase setup questionnaire so you do not lose work. Functional Until you submit or clear browser storage
aksel.riskAccept.* Remembers which checkout-acceptance points you confirmed on pricing.html. Strictly necessary For the duration of your checkout session

3. Third-party requests your browser makes

Two third-party requests run when you load a page on aksel.cloud:

  • Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com): the site requests the Inter and IBM Plex Mono font files. Your browser sends your IP address and a User-Agent string to Google as part of that request. Google does not set tracking cookies on aksel.cloud itself. Google Fonts is governed by Google's privacy policy.
  • Your web host: every page request reaches the web hosting provider. The host receives your IP address and request headers for routing and security. See the privacy policy for who that is and which region they operate in.

If you would prefer fonts that load only from this domain, contact us; we can swap to self-hosted fonts on request.

4. What you will never find on this site

  • No Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Mixpanel, no Fathom — no analytics at all.
  • No Meta Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight Tag, no remarketing tags.
  • No tracking cookies of any kind.
  • No A/B testing tools that profile visitors.
  • No session replay tools (Hotjar, FullStory, etc.).
  • No advertising networks.

5. How to clear or block this storage

Because all storage lives in your own browser, you control it directly:

  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → search "aksel" → Remove.
  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → View permissions and data stored across sites → aksel.cloud.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data.

If you block third-party requests entirely (for example via a browser extension), the fit-checker and questionnaire still work, but typography may fall back to your system default font.

6. Changes to this page

If we ever add a new storage item or a new third-party request, we will update the table above and the "Last updated" date at the top before that storage is used in production.
